How it works

Mooloolaba is the social heart of the southern Sunshine Coast — and yet, meeting new people here usually means clubs, gyms, or surfing alone hoping someone says hi. DayCrew solves that with the simplest format that works: same beach, same time, small crew, every Saturday. You apply once. After that you just turn up.

The beach itself

Mooloolaba's main beach has everything a meetup needs — patrolled water, an easy 5-minute walk to The Spit, the esplanade if the weather turns. The 4pm timing catches the wind-down crowd: locals back from the day, the surf softening, golden hour about to land. By the time crews drift apart it's usually pink-sky territory.

Common questions

Quick answers for your first meetup.

Where on Mooloolaba Beach do you meet?

Near the patrolled flags by the SLSC, southern end of the main beach. Once your crew is set for the week, @daycrewclub DMs the exact spot.

I live in Maroochydore / Buderim / Caloundra — should I come here or Sunshine Beach?

Mooloolaba is the right one for you. Sunshine Beach (Wednesdays) is closer to Noosa; Mooloolaba (Saturdays) is the main hub for the central and southern Sunshine Coast.

I'm visiting for a weekend — can I drop in?

Yes. Many of our regulars started exactly that way. One free meetup, no subscription needed, perfect for a one-off.

What's the format?

It's deliberately loose — meet up, walk along the beach or sit on the sand, swim if it's warm, talk. No icebreakers, no name-tag energy. Just a small crew on a beach.

What if the weather is terrible?

We move to a sheltered nearby spot (often the Mooloolaba esplanade) or shift the time. You'll get a DM from @daycrewclub if anything changes.

Strangers in, friends out.
